Here’s a list of 5 things that I’ve been enjoying and learning about in December:
- Project that I’m undertaking:
So, what’s #2020bookclub? I’m starting this because I’ve spoken to so many people who often want to read & grow but sometimes find it hard to scrape together the motivation to decide what to read & to start actually reading. Through #2020bookclub I hope to encourage others to invest in yourself, I’ll be sharing a different book each month that I’m reading & I want to invite those interesting to join me in reading & sharing what we’re learning.
January’s book will be ‘7 habits of highly effective people‘ by Stephen Covey
- Music I’ve been listening to:
We bring out the Christmas carols each December. If, like me, you’re looking for something fresh in the Christmas carols department then look out Future of Forestry’s 3 Advent EPs. FoF are highly talented musicians and bring a new sound to old songs. Joy to the world & Little drummer boy are my top recommendations.
- Book I’ve been reading:
Brené Brown is an expert on shame, authenticity and learning to embrace who you are. I’ve often heard Brené quoted although this is her first book that I’ve read. A really good insight into living with, and developing, courage, compassion and connection with self and others.
- App that I’ve been enjoying:
Video content is growing in popularity across all social media and YouTube is now the second most used search engine on the internet. I know that I consume content in a variety of ways, therefore I’ve been learning how YouTube works behind the scenes and along with my blog and podcast I’ll be uploading videos (semi) regularly. I’d appreciate your time to check out my channel and, of course, hit subscribe to keep up to date.
- Film I’ve been watching:
It was inevitable that there was going to be a follow up to the 2013 film Frozen. While I may be slightly sceptical of Disney sequels to big money films, Frozen 2 was a delight, and I’d happily watch it again. Takeaway lesson was: If you don’t know what to do then just do the right next thing. Good advice for all of us.
Have an amazing Christmas,
