Hi friends,

Here’s a list of 5 things that I’ve been enjoying and learning about in November:

  • Book I’ve been reading:

Take the day off by Robert Morris

I don’t know if I can recommend this highly enough. I was deeply impacted by Robert Morris’ previous work ‘The Blessed Life’ as he breathed life into important biblical and financial principles such as tithing. I was excited to learn more on the Sabbath from him. Robert Morris offers great biblical insight into the importance of a day of rest as well as keeping it very practical to our modern life. We need this.

  • Music I’ve been listening to:

Everyday Life by Coldplay

Coldplay are back and are continuing to evolve into new sounds. This feels like a more stripped back acoustic album with sounds from all around the world. I think the album is a grower but it feels fresh from Chris Martin & Co. Top song: Arabesque.

  • Podcast I’ve been learning from:

‘Leadership blindspot part 4: A wrong view of success’ The Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast

Peter Scazzero’s leadership podcast is great to help think through healthy and sustainable leadership. In this fourth part of a mini-series on leadership blindspots Pete asks the challenging question: Is it possible to succeed at the wrong thing? Regardless of your leadership role or ambitions this is a worthwhile listen.

  • Series I’ve been watching:

Final Space

Netflix is full of fantastic series. However, so many of them are dark and dramatic. Final Space is a breath of fresh air if you’re looking something fun to watch.

  • Quote that’s got me thinking:

“This hill, though high, I covet to ascend; the difficulty will not me offend. For I perceive the way to life lies here. Come, pluck up, heart; let’s neither faint nor fear. Better, though difficult, the right way to go, than wrong, though easy, where the end is woe.” John Bunyan

Have you tried any of these? Do you have any suggestions? Let me know!

Have a fantastic December, Merry Christmas!

Dan
